New Believer

I Just Got Saved.

You said yes to Jesus. This is the beginning of a brand-new life with Him. You do not have to know everything today. Just keep taking your next step.

“

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

What happened when I got saved?

Salvation is more than becoming religious or deciding to become a better person.

When you put your faith in Jesus Christ, you received the gift of salvation. Your sins were forgiven, you were brought into relationship with God, and you became part of His family.

Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves. He died for our sins, rose again, and made a way for us to be reconciled to God.

Now you get to walk with Him. And like every relationship, that relationship grows as you spend time with Him.

Your First Steps

You do not have to do everything at once. Start with what is in front of you and keep moving toward Jesus.

01

Get Into the Word

The Bible is not just a book you read when you need encouragement. It is the Word of God, and learning His Word will change the way you think, live, make decisions, and recognize His voice.

If you are wondering where to begin, start with the Gospel of John. Read a chapter at a time and ask: What does this show me about Jesus? What is God teaching me?

Let the Word stay in front of you each day. Even if it is one verse, meditate on it, think about it, and carry it with you throughout the day.

Start here: Read John 1 today.
02

Talk to God

Prayer does not have to sound impressive. Prayer is simply talking with God.

Thank Him. Ask Him questions. Bring Him your fears, decisions, needs, and the things you do not understand.

Talk to the Lord every day. Stay in communication with Him. Bring Him your questions, your thoughts, your decisions, and your heart.

03

Get Planted in a Local Church

Following Jesus was never meant to be done alone. Find a Bible-believing, Spirit-filled local church where the Word of God is preached and where you can worship, grow, serve, receive godly leadership, and build relationships with other believers.

Keep showing up. You may not see change in the natural right away, but roots are growing before fruit becomes visible. Stay planted and keep making room for God to work in you.

04

Get Water Baptized

If you have placed your faith in Jesus and have not been water baptized, make this one of your next steps.

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus. It represents leaving your old life behind and identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection.

Talk with your local church about being baptized.
05

Build Godly Community

Who you surround yourself with matters. Build relationships with people who will encourage you toward Jesus, pray with you, tell you the truth, and help you grow in the Word.

Stay close to godly people who will strengthen your faith, encourage you, and continually point you back to Jesus.

06

Tell Someone What Jesus Did

You do not need a theology degree to tell someone about Jesus. You already have a testimony.

Tell someone you gave your life to Christ. Tell them what God has done in you. Your story may be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Keep Growing

Salvation is not the finish line.

It is the beginning of life with Jesus.

This is not about behavior modification or trying harder to look like a Christian.

Jesus has given you new life. Now you get to keep choosing that life — choosing Him, His Word, His presence, and His way.

You do not have to have everything figured out. Just keep saying yes to Jesus, one step at a time.
